STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Mission Statement

The Mission of the New Fairfield Senior Center is to provide opportunities for enrichment and interaction for Senior adults in an atmosphere of support and respect, and to maximize a sense of wellbeing and health through participation in activities at the Center and in the community.

Goals:

a. To provide senior citizens with experiences which involve them in the life of the Center itself, the town of New Fairfield (including the political life, educational life, and social life) and in the wider community, which allows them to apply and improve their knowledge and skills.

​

b. To reach out to the diverse population of seniors, whether that diversity is reflected in age, socioeconomic status, religion, educational level, ethnicity, culture or other variables, through programs designed to build and maintain a broad base of participants.

c. To embrace, support, and empower those senior citizens for whom loss and adversity have taken a toll.

​

d. To ensure that the staff is always prepared to give quality service by providing for regular training.

​

e. To permanently maintain a safe and attractive facility that serves as a focal point in the community for senior services and activities.

​

f. To assist the friends and families of older adults seeking caregiving solutions.

​

g. To assist people in maintaining wellness through physical activity and health education.
